Cicor lands mid-single-digit-million CHF order for airborne radar substrates
The Cicor Group (SIX Swiss Exchange: CICN) has secured a strategically significant purchase order from a top-five European aerospace & defence (A&D) equipment provider for thin-film substrates used in airborne radar systems, to be manufactured at its Wangs (Switzerland) facility.
- The initial order, valued in the mid-single-digit million CHF range, is slated for delivery in 2026, with expectations of a larger follow-on contract covering 2027 and subsequent years.
- This contract represents approximately 10% of the annual sales of Cicor’s Advanced Substrates Division, reinforcing its standing in thin-film substrate technology.
- The production transfer from the former Ulm (Germany) site—consolidated by the end of 2024—to Wangs is nearly complete. In preparation, the Wangs plant has undergone significant upgrades, including the installation of a rooftop photovoltaic system to partially meet its electricity needs.
This development underscores Cicor’s reinforced capabilities in high-precision A&D electronics and its evolving role as a reliable supplier for mission-critical airborne systems.
